Accreditation Types

The goal of NCACE is to maximize the availability of qualified coaches for all sport programs. The accreditation process provides consistent and scientifically-based standards to assess:

(1) the content of programs submitted for review,

(2) the qualifications of instructors who educate coaches, and

(3) the process by which essential content for educating coaches is provided within the programs under review.

Accreditation status is awarded when a coaching education program (CEP) successfully demonstrates that its collective program meets all 40 standards of the National Standards for Sport Coaches (NASPE, 2006). Individual Curricular Modules (CMs) contained in a program with Comprehensive Accreditation may or may not be portable.
